What does it mean to be “free”? When we rescue an elephant, we’re giving it freedom from a life of hard work, whether in logging, riding, or tourism. While we can’t release them into the wild, we can give them something precious: a life of choice, dignity, and companionship. Our sanctuaries are designed to mimic their natural habitat as closely as possible. One tough thing about rescue work is running into the ones you can’t help. We only rescue elephants when we are confident they won’t be replaced, but trust when I say…I want to help them all.
