This baby zebra made its public debut at Xenpal Zoo in Mexico on Thursday. The Grevy's zebra is an endangered species, and the zoo says: "We are doing everything possible to preserve and reproduce them so that in the future we can repopulate some other parks." | CBS Sunday Morning

Zebra (Equus quagga): These 250cm (8ft) highly social animals are important because they help local ecosystems on the grasslands and savannas of Africa where they live by grazing on dry hardened grass that is too tough for other species (including Wildebeest and Antelopes) to digest. They generally avoid deserts, thick forest and extensive wetlands however would not normally stray more than 30km (18miles) from sources of water. The habitats they depend on are diminishing with human expansion. #z
