Russell Chatham (October 27, 1939 – November 10, 2019) [1] was a contemporary American landscape artist and author who spent most of his career living in Livingston, Montana.

Russell Chatham’s perfectionist nature is evidenced in his landscape paintings. Sometimes taking as long as a year to complete, Chatham does not consider a painting “finished” until he determines it is so.

Artist Russell Chatham is the grandson of famous landscape painter Gottardo Piazzoni and was self-taught and inspired by his grandfather's art from an early age. His art comes from vision and feeling.
