During a town hall event last week, Tesla (TSLA) informed its employees about its plans to begin collecting data to train its Optimus humanoid robots at its manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas, The Business Insider reported on Saturday.
The Austin push is planned for February, insiders told Business Insider. Tesla has been training Optimus in its Fremont factory for more than a year.
Tesla gained 3% after Musk said Optimus humanoid robots will be sold to consumers by end of 2026 following safety testing.
